A long time ago, a credit on the Internet Movie Database was a rite of passage for me. It was proof that I belonged in the film community. And as an actor you grow to appreciate these small victories of validation since nobody thinks you're going to stick with it. Given the amount of competition, the odds are slim to none. The only comfort is knowing that your competition will slowly drop off like flies as the years pass. Maybe "comfort" is the wrong word for that. Morbidly, realistically comforting maybe... Anyway, the point is that I've stuck with it long enough to amass 40 acting credits on IMDb. Hurray me! Noticeably, a handful of these are credits for projects I've helped write or produce, which goes to show: if opportunity doesn't present itself, make the opportunity. Don't be the fly, be the gadfly!
