First Annual "The Room" Screening

Otherwise known as my birthday.

"The Room" is a cult classic because everything about it is theoretically unwatchable. In more relatable terms, it's our generations "Plan 9 from Outer Space" and according to the press release it has the "passion of Tennessee Williams."

Cast and crew kept getting fired and rehired, unnecessary purchases were made (amounting to a $6 million budget), and a madman by the name of Tommy Wiseau was in charge. Shrouded in mystery, few people even know his birth place and age. As you can see, we posed with a homemade Tommy Wiseau Crow.

One of my favorite stories about "The Room" is that Tommy Wiseau bought two cameras (not just rented, but bought) because he didn't know whether the film would look better in digital or 35mm. The two cameras were rolling for every scene.

I had such a great time at our little screening! We had Room fans and new converts alike. Lisandro is holding my copy of "The Disaster Artist" a tell-all about the making of "The Room." Lavrenti has the infamous "Scotchka" drink. And Marcus has my football, signed by TW himself. You're all amazing for bearing with me on this one!

And for those who don't get my obsession. You don't understand anything, man. Leave your stupid comments in your pocket!

Happy Cinco de Mayo!

And what's a better way to celebrate May (which also happens to be my birth month) than watching Dreamer in Exile? Three years ago this month, we were gearing up to begin our two week shooting schedule. We would pick up our rental van and prop shotgun on May 12th 2011, shoot in New Jersey that weekend, Long Island the following weekend, and wrap on the 22nd.

William Gerber of Billy G Photography has been posted the full screening version of Dreamer in Exile on his website. If you look closely, you'll notice that the Billy G Farm is the location that we used for Mickey's house. Click below to watch. Enjoy!
